I find myself using Firefox much more than Safari and I was wondering if there is a way in OSX to set Firefox as my 'default' browser. What I mean is that when I click links in E-mail and iChat, etc. it opens Safari when I want it to open FF.

Thanks...

This is something I actually hope gets changed in Tiger or in a Panther update. The default browser should be set in System Prefs, not Safari.

Which is the way it was, prior to Panther. The e-mail client is set similarly by accessing mail's preferences.

Hahaha!

You set it in Safari's Preferences of all places.

OK, I think I've looked just about EVERYWHERE ELSE to find that setting! Your right Elan... It should either be in system prefs or the browser you're using should have the option available in its prefs.

Anyways, thanks king!

Duff-Man says....you can also use the pref.pane RCDefaultApp ...it also does a few other nifty things too....but use with a bit of caution....oh yeah!

RCDefaultApp rocks! Nice to have the centralized location to change all these settings - browser, e-mail, default apps for particular file types, etc.
