What audio bitrate??

I am converting .AVI files with HandBrake, but I can't figure out which bitrate to use. The default is 128, but it sounded low in my itunes. Upon converting it with a 320 bitrate, I dont think I can even tell a difference.. I always watched these movies with headphones on.

Any suggestions? 192 perhaps?

Funny how Wikipedia always does the trick.

If you can't tell the difference between 128 & 320 - 192 won't do the trick since it's less then 320. iTunes Store default is 192.

CD Quality is 880 kpbs and up.

There are plenty of other conversion options that can cause a loss of audio quality such as, but not limited to:
-Mono vs. Stereo
-Audio bit depth

Well I figured 192 sounded like a good middle ground, maybe I should try with my Bose headphones on, i was just using my laptop speakers.

Codec is AAC (Core Audio), and the Mixdown is Dolby Pro Logic II, so that should be pretty good, the other options are DOlby Surround and 6 Channel. (as well as Mono & Stereo, which I see no reason to use).

For music, the iTunes Store is 256. CDs are 1411, but of course it's PCM rather than AAC so you can't compare exclusively by bitrate.

Maybe I should just keep them at 320 and squeeze every possible bit I can out of them, only thing is that I was trying to keep the file size more iPad friendly...

Ill have to do some serious testing tomorrow of original vs 128 320 and maybe 192 or 256 or w/e it was
