Isn't every web designer over 18 an adult web designer? Yes, they should be able to develop apps.

Since it's a private company, they can do whatever they want.

I think there's enough porn on Safari that it's futile not to allow it on the AppStore in a separate area. Just because I don't want it, doesn't mean I shouldn't let others have it. But that's just me personally.

Yeah, it's called safari. As a web designer you can take advantage of that, no?

As the guy before me said, Apple is a private company and they can do whatever they want. Developers seem to think that they are entitled to be allowed to sell whatever they want in Apple's App Store. It's not like the Constitution where you get the right to free speech. Apple is a private corporation and they can decide what to do with their company.

is there anyone on the planet who doesn't already know that apple loves controlling every aspect of their "ecosystem". You don't buy (or develop for) an iphone/touch/ipad with the idea that you can do with it as YOU please. You can only do with it what Steveo says you can--or you jailbreak it. You want choices, you go with non-Apple products.

Yes, but they would need to make some kind of UI trigger event to hide/unhide adult apps.

Even on the PC, there are very few Porn/Adult apps, possibly because most reputable game companies don't want to get into that category.

Entrance to the app market could be a great boon for the porn industry, just like it has been for other content creators.

Come on, dude. Don't be rude. I think we all know what the issue is and why the OP asked what they asked.

I agree that there is no "right" or "entitlement" to sell what you want in Apple's private store. However, I think I can still (legitimately) disagree with Apple's choice for specific reasons.

It is clear that Apple wants their product to have a certain feel in the hands of its users and all of their skeptical friends.—"iPad sucks! But wait... it kind of feels nice in my hands… I'll get the second gen." Potential buyers might see all of the porno apps and get turned off to the idea of buying an iPad.—"Is that what the iPad is for? Fap-machine?"

…but it still blows (no pun intended) that we can't use iPad for that specific kind of entertainment. I imagine that the industry could do more with a native app than an ipad-specific web-app—though both are good options for any kind of media—especially with HTML5.

Apple could beef up their parental controls.

I say why not? You don't have to buy them if they offend you. Just put them in the back of the App Store behind a curtain.
