Has anyone tried the text/SMS app for the iPad?

Do you have to have a separate address in order to use it or can you use your regular mobile number. i supposed anyone wanting to text you would have to have your new address. Any suggestions please?

there is a texting application that uses your number or not works ok in a pinch

I just use Google Voice. Free unlimited texting via email. Works great with push email.

Any experience with Text Free unlimited or Text Now unlimited? They both require you to have a new text address and not use your mobile number. That is as I understand it. Is anyone better than the other or is there still a better app? The friend that I text does not have email or data, just a text plan.
