This would be hilarious if Steve pulled a fast one on everybody.

"Okay, now that everyone has their iPads in hand... it's time to show you what they can really do."

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if iPhone OS and iPad OS diverged here, with the iPhone getting OS 4 first. Then it comes out at a slightly later date for the iPad, with platform specific features added.

Hoping for a leaner OS. A Snow Leo redo of the entire OS is a must at this point. To many bugs from 1.x, 2.x and the 3.x series OS. Please Apple, make this a clean-up revision!

How much leaner do you need it to be? And as for bugs, I'm not sure there are all that many considering. What are you experiencing?

I could see them changing the name to iOS since it now covers 3 devices.

I think they will all get it at the same time. Makes sense with the news that Apple would be not charging for the next point release of iPad software. They knew they were going to be releasing 4.0 not too long after iPads release and charging extra for it would cause a major stink.

I reckon there will be a lot of happy campers who just bought their iPads, knowing that they'll get a (hopefully) free software update in June/July.

It feels like Apple have been holding back a tidal wave of new product info thats just about to hit us!

Well, take into account the older iPhone models. iPhone 3GS users don't experience the bugs much because we are used to the fast responsive CPU. Where as iPhone 3G and 1st Geners are stuck at lower RAM and slower CPUs. Making the OS leaner will help out with resource handling.

Also, bugs in respect to stability. They show up much easier on older models. If Apple makes this OS a fix, they will have more happy customers in the 3G range. Keep in mind, Apple still sells the 3G, so it's very plausible its life expectancy will be longer and supported longer. it would make sense to make the OS much faster for those users.

What was it again Jobs said about ALL of the Apple products coming out this year....................this is exciting.

I'm betting on.......

1. Limited Multi-Tasking

2. iBooks for the iPhone

3. Updated UI look to match iPad
