Spyware Dectection Software: Is it necessary?

Would anyone recommend using spyware detection software on the MAC?

If so, what would you recommend?

Any critical comments on "WebTunnel" (available on the Apple site)?

it would be nice to clean up the tracking cookies that all web browser can get but other wise there not really any spy where
