Cinebench

Hi guys I'm just wanting to get an idea what all the different Mac Pro's benchmark at.

If anybody has some spare time could you download Cinebench and post your results here. Please only post results using Cinebench R11.5. Its a 140mb download.

If you could include what Mac Pro you have and information like CPU,RAM, GFX card etc.

Looking forward to seeing all the benchmarks

I'm sure this is not what your looking for but just for kicks. I'm interested in seeing some Mac Pro results to compare to as well

i7 920 @ 4.2Ghz, 6gb ram @ 1600mhz, HD4870 1Gb, Hackintosh

OSX 10.6.3 ----- 21.11 fps/4.23 CPU points

To be fair to the OP, those are R10 scores

If we get R11.5 scores on a nice range of systems, someone could make up a new chart.

Let's get going then:

MacBook Pro:
GPU (9400M) - 5.74fps
GPU (9600M GT) - 11.96fps
CPU single - .69
CPU - 1.33

If you care what the desktop in my sig got,

GPU - 27.9fps
CPU single - .69
CPU - 2.70

I think the scores are dependent on the chips rather than the machine.

At the risk of being condemned as an interloper, my scores for a Dell T5500 with dual X5570s (2.93GHz) and 24GB of 1333MHz RAM and a rather underpowered Quadro FX580 are (Windows 7 64bit)

OpenGL 11.23fps
CPU 10.73pts

I would expect the Mac Pro with dual X5570s to have a very close CPU score. The scores reported by Anandtech for the new X5600 series chips are about 50% faster (ie around 15 for the X5670)

http://www.anandtech.com/show/2978/a...-6-core-xeon/6

So for standard Xeon chips it doesn't seem to matter what workstation or OS you place them in, you'll get a score proportional to number of cores and the clock frequency.

I actually was wanting to see how my hackintosh went against a proper Mac Pro. I'm fairly happy with the results considering it cost me AUS$2500 and the cheapest Mac Pro starts at AUS$3500. I was surprised with cpnotebook80's result, I would have thought his Mac Pro 3,1 2x2.8ghz, 10gb ram would have done better then that.

My system consists of aGigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 Motherboard, Intel Core i7 930 overclocked to 3.57ghz, 2x Corsair 6GB PC-12800 (1600MHz) - 16gb total, XFX Radeon HD4890 1GB Core Edition HDMI/DVI

Edit - I just ran it in Windows 7 on the same machine and got:

Open GL - 37.72fps
CPU - 6.40pts

I guess Windows is really better for gaming
