Good Deal?
Just found this on a local classified's site:
Quote:
What do you guys think? The battery replacement is ~$120. RAM could be brought up to 3GB and the HDD cheaply brought up to 320GB. Upgrade the RAM and you're golden? Probably could haggle down to $400. Last edited by atticus18244fsa; Apr 15, 2010 at 10:18 PM. |

Validate what system it actually is first. Ask for the model designation and revision (with System Profiler).
Was there ever a "Core 2 Duo" MacBook Pro with 1gb ram and 111(120)gb hd? (I honestly don't remember there being one, but I could be wrong...) It does sound like a Rev C MacBook. It said that they paid $2400? I suppose, if it includes Final Cut Pro, and various other software? With a dead battery, I wouldn't pay more than $350 unless it was "mint". Also, there is no guarantee that replacing the battery will fix it. I bought a Netbook once, and was told it just needed a new battery. I replaced it and still needed to be plugged in, turned out there was something wrong on the logic board itself. Give it a very thorough inspection. I've had people on CL try to pass one MacBook off as another.

I'm thinking they probably included the price of Software and the new power adapter in the price which is kinda sneaky
. They don't sound like they really know what they're talking about but it definitely sounds like a Rev C except for the fact that they say 2 years old...
