First thing I noticed on this unit is the keyboard keys are not as thick as they were on my 1st gen unibody mbp.

can you take more pictures please? one right in front of the screen.

i'm going to buy one to...almost sure

thanks:eek:

Is that the 15 or the 17

It looks like the 17 because the speaker grilles look larger than the 15.

Wow! Congratulations it looks like an amazing laptop. I have been reading hundreds of posts and reviews of the high-res anti glare and this is the first time to see the glossy high-res. It seems split at the moment on what people want, but you have just helped me make my decision, I am going high-res glossy all the way. I do understand why the anti-glare would suit people especially those using their laptop outside and professionals working with video and photography, but for my very first apple mac purchase, yes it will be my first time so be gentle, it has to be the glossy high-res, I mean the thing just looks so much more appealing than the anti glare version. Anyway thanks again and enjoy.
P.s is it the 15" or the 17" and did you go for the i5 or i7, I am not sure what to go for in that regard as I will be keeping my first MBP for a few years as this will be a major purchase for me, have been saving for aver a year and a half.
Thanks again.

To make your decision on glossy vs. matte you should really go to a store and check them out side by side. Pics on the internet aren't going to help.

I was going to order a HR glossy because I have an iMac in my office (with controlled lighting) and the glare doesn't bother me (although I now notice it as I am writing this). However, I went to an Apple store and saw the matte and glossy side by side and thought the color saturation was just as good on the matte screen. So I ordered matte figuring that the MBP would be used in situations where the lighting would not be as easily controlled.

What do you mean the keys are not as thick?

They are not as tall. Hard to describe but basically not as chunky. I had a 1st gen unibody before, the kind with a removable battery.

Yes, this is a 15in. I will snap a few more pics.

Oh I am glad you said that. i have the first gen unibody and have always been a bit miffed at the height of the keys as they imprint on the glass of the screen when it's closed.
So glad to hear you say they have fixed that. But I have to admit I didn't notice this when I had a play on the new models in the Apple store the other day? I didn't think to look though.

It is minor, not a huge difference. Of course I might even be wrong since I don't have my old one sitting next to it. The fact I noticed it right away leads me to believe there was a change.
