Powerbook G4 Trackpad problem

This is my first post, so please don't flame me if this is posted else where.

I have a Powerbook G4, that i won in a bid on ebay for 90. Since I have had it the trackpad is starting to having issues. Sometimes while using it, it will jump all over the place making it very hard to use. Then sometimes when I am not using it the mouse will jump all over the screen and click on stuff.

Is the anything I can do to fix it, will getting a new trackpad work?

Any help would be wonderful

Edit: Right after i post this my trackpad stoped working
