How accurate is fedex shipping weight? Mines only .5 kg

As per title, does anyone else have .5 kg for their shipping ipads?
Seems a bit light.

Are you sure that tracking is for the iPad and not an accessories?

It's the box weight. You're getting an empty box.

I ordered two 16gb and they both shipped in their own box it appears. One is 3 lb and the other is 4.

Maybe I got a golden nugget in one. Or maybe someone sat their pen on top the box as it was weighed.

The only cause for concern is the obsessing over the weight of a package that is being shipped to you.

It may be nothing, but if it does turn out someone taken it along the way, then i'll be accused of lying by both apple and fedex.

The last toy I bought said it was 2kgs but when I got it, it was only .25kgs. I was surprised too but still impressed.

No need to worry, the weight is provided by apple when the shipping label is created, it's obviously an error. FedEx might reweigh it and apply the proper shipping rate, but this isn't something you need to worry about it will be addressed with Apple.

You will still get your iPad.

How's the battery life in that toy?

Mine says 4.0 lbs. It sounds to me like they sent you an empty box. I would be COMPLETELY FREAKING OUT if I were you.

Pretty sure that I get more than 11 hours use before having to recharge. As it is not made by Apple it has user replaceable batteries.

Mine says 4.0 lbs. But also says it went from PA to NJ. Uhm, I'm in Cincinnati Fed Ex, head southwest, not east!

I doubt that happened. But if it did, Apple will be able to confirm your story by looking at the shipment's reported weight.

I've had packages sent to me with the wrong weight listed in the tracking information. They have always automatically corrected the weight at some point before it's delivered.

I noticed the NJ redirect too. That surprised me a bit. That still is the only other scan. It used to be that all the Express stuff visited Memphis prior to delivery even for deliveries in the same town. I suppose it could be going on a trip first before it shows up tomorrow.

Mine says 1.0 lbs/.5 kg also. I think they under estimated it. as with the box, and stuff it should be appx... 1.5 kg/3.3 lbs at least. That was what my Wi-Fi version was. Strange indeed.
