Riot Police sheild Obama from Grandma

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=147417

Quote:
When hundreds of tea-party protesters – including many elderly women – gathered outside a civic center where President Obama was giving a public speech Wednesday, they were surprised to be greeted by police dispatched in full riot gear.

About 200 protesters peacefully rallied outside the civic center, carrying signs that read "Give Us Liberty Not Debt" and yellow "Don't Tread On Me" flags, the Quincy Herald-Whig reported. Protesters waved U.S. flags and shouted "Remember in November" and "You work for us."
lol this is hilarious, the Democrats are SO afraid of losing in novemeber they will do ANYTHING to shut up people who dont believe like they do...

If they wanted to shut them up those police wouldn't be standing across the road.

err, wat.
Way to completely misconstrue what happened (although reading Wing Nut Daily, I'm not surprised).

In real life:

Quote:
Local police, wearing riot gear, briefly marched down the street to clear it for the president's motorcade.

The crowd moved back, the officers stayed for about 15 minutes and left, and there were no other incidents.
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/rig...tea_party.html

Yes, the police could've thought "Hey, it's just a bunch of bigoted old racists, they won't cause any trouble", but with any head of state you got to be on the safe side.

There's quite clearly a lot more people there than "grandma" and there certainly was an amicable response from the teaparty protestors. As excitingly partisan as it is to beat this up your conclusions of "shutting them up" are entirely baseless.

Isn't it pretty much standard practice to have riot police at a protest in case it turns ugly? I don't think I've been to a single protest where there hasn't been riot police there (and thankfully not required). It actually makes me feel safer as a protestor.

Why do old people give two poops about the country's debt?

Aren't they almost dead anyway?

Generally speaking, old people are unable to give two poops about anything without considerable nutritional/medicinal assistance. But I digress.

If they were becoming too rowdy then yes, the police have the authority to calm things down. That said, what makes them morons and not people like the Tea party?

What kind of person would take that obvious hyperbole, that propaganda, as news?

Oh wait...

Can you prove they always come to right-wing events? Otherwise your point is pointless. But then it wouldn't really be a point.

i would consider them more dangerous than the hipster college idiots who show up at lefty protest.

think about it, these old racist bigots are from an era, where it was ok to shoot dead black people and lynch gays.

the college hipster play WoW and smoke weed, where they have an epiphany to go protest something stupid.
