iMac g3 and iMac g4 question

Do the imac g3 and g4 use the same type of ram? Because I have 1 gb RAM in my g3 and I want to buy a g4 then move that ram over to the new imac.

This really belongs in the PowerPC section. Look up the specific iMacs on everymac.com, some have the same, some don't.

EDIT: On closer inspection it looks like none of them share the same RAM type.
