Access ext4 Partition(s)

I'd like to access my ext4 partition (Ubuntu 10.04 x64). Is this possible? I can't seem to find anything regarding this...
 
I had a look at this a few weeks ago and found that the consensus is it (currently) cannot be done. You can run a VM (VirtualBox for instance) and use it to access the drives (and possibly share them with the host OS - haven't tried this).

(This is why I currently have a MACOSX VM copying from ext4 shared on the downstairs PC to USB HFS+)
