don't forget to add it to your insurance, or get some insurance



I know I'm stating the obvious, but I usually forget

Add to which insurance? You should already be covered under homeowners, renter, and car policies.

Edit: I see you're in UK. Guess coverages work different in your country.

No, it should be covered under home insurance/car insurance etc.
