AI Charger software from ASUS (iPad charging for your PC)

Confirmed working on HP DC8000 Business Desktop (Intel Q45 Chipset And Motherboard)

Is there anything I can run on my Hackintosh / Mac to do the same thing?
 
Can anyone who has used this program for a while reply with some anecdotal data? Any trouble? Does the battery life get affected in anyway? Ever notice the phone/idevice discharging faster than normal? Or any other hiccups?

I suppose if the program sucked or messed things up it would be easier to find information on, but as it stands right now, hard to find any reviews- good or bad.
