What is the speaker grill thing on the white iphone 4? did i miss somtheing???

Good question... the image on apple's website has that on the white one as well.

Maybe its a front led light for the camera......But most likely sensors that the black color hides and the white color doesnt.

it's weird cause if you look at the black one there's really nothing so the only possible way is that it actually isn't a grille (meaning there are no physical "holes") it's just, as mentioned before, sensors, that are rather black

Looks like they had to move the sensors because of where the camera is. On the black one, they are hidden by the tint of the glass just like the sensors on the previous phones. The couldn't do that with the white one, so it appears they had to make a grill in the glass for it.

Yeah. I would have to agree with other people. I assume it is sensors that are hidden because the black one is black and not in the "light" so to speak.

I'm agreeing with everyone who said "sensors."

It's gotta be light and proximity sensor. The white paint must not be see through or something. Kinda goofy lookin I guess.
I hope the iPhone 4 uses a better light sensor. I can be in pitch blackness, unlock my iPhone and get my eyes blown out. Doesn't dim, just brighten. (And I do have auto brightness on)

So is that vent there so the sort of redish tint of the sensor doesnt make the white look albino?

good find elephunkman, I'm not sure if my eyes are deceiving me or I can actually see the grills in the black iPhone, but it blends in with the phone.

(obviously black and white are going to contrast, but black on black will be camoflashed).

If you look really closely at the black one, you could see the outline of the grille above the earpiece. Could also be my eyes deceiving me though.

I was SURE that there was nothing on the black one but I zoomed in on the black one pictured above and if you reallllllly look I think you can see the outline.

Looks disturbing.
