I have a 12 G4 800 iBook with a cracked screen. I have been quoted £390 for a new display, which frankly Im not prepared to pay as the screen was damaged way to easily in the first place!
Now I have two options that I can think of. First is to look out for a used screen on ebay, problem is I dont know what kind of screen will fit a G4 iBook. Would a 12 G3 screen fit ok?
My other option is to remove the display altogether and connect it to an external monitor and use it as a server or something. Would the iBook still boot if I were to completely remove the screen?
