Power Macintosh 8100/100 and a PC Monitor
I have a Power Macintosh 8100/100 here, and I have an IBM G40 PC Monitor attached on it by an adapter...
It's really working, but on a low 640x480 resolution screen... This monitor works on other PCs with full 800x600 or 1024x768 resolutions...
How can I change this on the 8100?
P.S.: On the screen icon on the dock only apears 640x480 67Hz...
Thank you all!

Your Mac to VGA adapter is probably locked at 640x480
If your 8100 has only internal (built-in video), you should consider going on EBay and finding an HPV (high performance video) PDS video card and also get 4mb total VRAM SIMMS to get 1024x768 at millions of colors (also using a configurable adapter, like the Belkin above). It just depends how much you want to spend on an this older system.
Here is some useful info from:
• Internal (built-in video) supports thousands of colors at 640x480 and 256 colors at 832x642
• 2 MB PDS card and AV card support millions of colors at 640x480 and 832x624, thousands of colors at 1024x768 and 1152x870
• 4 MB PDS card supports millions of colors at 640x480, 832x624, , 1024x768, and 1152x870
Good luck, and if you have any other questions, I will be glad to try and help.

Duff-Man says...sent you a PM - I've got a few of these adapters just sitting in a drawer...no charge except what it costs to mail it to you.....oh yeah!
Duff-Man computes with...Mac Pro 3.2GHz 8 core 18GB RAM + MacBook Pro 2.5GHz C2D + 16GB iPod Nano + iPhone 4S 32GB...Oh Yeah!
