How do I create a wireless hotspot with my 3G iPad?

DO NOT USE MyWi on the iPad. It replaces elements of the Springboard to allow background tethering. When this happens on the iPad your interface thinks its an iPhone and nothing short of a restore will get it back.

Although it looks like some people haven't worked out how to use it. On my phone I has to do a network reset through settings to get it to work sometimes.

It's all about economics. Before AT&T spends over a $100,000 putting up a 3G cell tower in the woods for 10 campers they should place it in a small city that doesn't have 3G or put up a 4G tower (in north Atlanta

I use MyWi on a daily basis on my iPad to make a wireless hot spot. I have had only minor issues. Sometimes when you go to turn the hot spot off, it will stay on even if it indicates on the app as OFF. A simple power off will fix it. It works better if you do not have backgrounding enabled for MyWi itself. Just start the hot spot and exit the app normally (home button).
