I'm using Itunes producer and am getting the following error when I try to deliver my epub file:

ERROR ITMS-9000: "required attributes missing" at Book (MZItmspBookPackage)

I called up apple multiple times but they can't seem to help me. Does anyone know what this error code mean and how to fix it or get around it?

I am using Calibre to make the Epub file and I used Lulu to get an ISBN number since they can be used to get an ISBN number for free.

Yes, thank you for asking. What happened was I got a ISBN from Lulu and was using that to submit my book through Itunes Publisher. Apparently even though I had an ISBN number I still can't submit a book without a publisher. Long story short I was able to find a independent publisher who'd publish my book to Itunes for me.

publisher?

Hi,
I seem to be having similiar issue. However all I get back is ISBN error.
It doesn't say anything about a publisher.
ITMS-4099: Invalid ISBN.
Anyone had experience fixing this?

I'm having the identical problem. ITunes Producer validates everything about my intended epub upload, but then a red message appears: ERROR ITMS-4099: "Invalid ISBN: [#]" at Book (MZItmspBookPackage)
brackets mine
Has anyone figured out how to solve this? Like the other people reporting this error message, I've verified the ISBN number, the title of the ePub document, and have it in the correct directory.
Help, anyone?

OK, I got to thinking about it, and I believe that particular error message means that iTunes Producer ran the newly assigned epub ISBN by Bowker's database and, not finding it because it had not yet been posted to Bowkers, returned an error message. I tested that premise with an epub from an author who had already posted their epub ISBNs on Bowkers, and it came back clean. So I have now updated our Bowkers listing and in one to three business days I'll be able to report if my hypothesis holds up.

That's what it was, all right. The ISBN has to have already been posted in Bowker's online database for iTunes Producer to recognize it. Voila, problem solved.

I am trying to figure out why my delivery failed. I know all my images are png files, yet the error message tells me that they might not be. Has anyone come across this problem.
