Switching apps from fullscreen?

If i am in a program, such as warcraft 3, which if full screen; how do i switch back to the main OS without quitting the game?

Some games don't allow you to do so, but you can try command+m, or command+h.

how about command+tabbing to the finder?

hit F11

Hit F11 to clear the screen and F11 to resume.
