Just as iOS 4 went live a short time ago, Apple sent out emails to U.S. customers who placed iPhone 4 reservations for in-store pickup on Thursday when the device launches.

The email includes a confirmation of the day and time, as well as the location where the reservation has been made. Those with reservations are also reminded to bring a photo ID, their Social Security number, and a debit or credit card, and customers transferring from another carrier are asked to bring their existing account number to enable the transfer process.

Apple also notes that some customers received original confirmation emails citing incorrect pricing, and refers customers to Apple's support site to check with AT&T's servers to confirm correct pricing eligibility.

Does anyone know if Business accounts are still being directed to AT&T for Purchase? I have a reservation at the Apple store for iPhone 4, but 2 years ago for the 3g I was directed to the AT&T store for purchase.

Can't get through to Apple on the phone to ask that question, wondering if anyone has had better luck.

I'd be glad to take all that with me, but for some reason Apple has no record of my reservation and I never got any confirmation. They said someone would look into it (last Friday) and I should expect a call back by the 24th

I reserved it, but never got a confirmation. I preordered one and it should be here "by noon June 24th."

Anyone's reservation date changed from thursday ?

My email said Thursday.

I was also able to check and make sure that Apple saw that I have an early upgrade price on my FAN account.

Now I'm just hoping I will be able to get them to upgrade to a 32GB because I only reserved a 16. The guy behind me did it last year for the 3GS and I know some people down at my Apple store so I think i'll be fine.

Anyone's reservation date changed from thursday ?

Mine is still for Thursday. Here's my whole email (with location info redacted). I like how it says "don't forget to pick your iPhone 4." I bet not many people who braved the online mayhem last Tuesday, often spending hours just to complete their reservation, will be forgetting to pick up their new iPhone!

Don't forget to pick up your iPhone 4.
This Thursday starting at 7:00 a.m.

When you come in to pick up your iPhone 4, you'll be directed to a line for those with reservations. We'll have Specialists ready to transfer your contacts, set up email, and help you get apps so your iPhone is just the way you like it. We look forward to seeing you at the store.

Sincerely,
The Apple Retail Store team

Pickup Date and Time
June 24 starting at 7:00 a.m.

Pickup Location
Apple Store, XXX

Your reservation will be held until close of business on June 24.

Please note:
Some customers received a confirmation email showing an incorrect price. We apologize for any difficulties you may have encountered. If you're currently an AT&T customer, you can confirm your pricing online. Review now
Be sure to bring these items with you:

• A valid, government-issued photo ID
• Your Social Security number
• A debit or credit card
• New to AT&T? Bring your account number from your current carrier.

Reserved Items
1 iPhone 4 32 GB - Black

Pre-authorization does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interesting... On the 15th, I made numerous attempts to pre-order an iPhone via Apple's website, but was not successful until after midnight. During one of my attempts during the day, I had gotten to the point where the website was saying it could not process my pre-order but I could reserve a phone at my local store. So I went ahead and did so. But I never received any kind of confirmation notice that I have a phone reserved.

I later went ahead and pre-ordered a phone, but it won't ship until July 2nd.

So, how do I confirm that I still have a reservation? If I have one, and if I choose to go pick one up on Thursday morning, will I be able to cancel my pre-order?

Hope it's not a rerun of the ordering process for you chumps that have to go to the store to get it. I am getting flashbacks of the buying experience of the 3G and it scares me. Glad mine is coming to my doorstep.

I am not sure if a Corporate account (with FAN) is a Business account. I have a corporate account and had reserved an iPhone 4. The reminder mail I got asks me to go to the Apple store only.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm guessing my reservation (despite saying "We'll see you then!") never actually went through. So now I'm likely hosed and facing getting one in a month (or whatever the new reservation date is now).

I was told that this is still the case. I too have a business account (discount through my employer) and was told by an Apple Store genius that I'd still need to go through AT&T, which I did for the iPhone 4.
