Could the large fan make the new G4s very noisy compared with older models ?

looks like we could have a noise issue with the only outlet from that huge beat being the front of the case.

I was thinking the same thing, especially since its called a turbine fan, not very promising.

Has anyone seen these machines yet? If so, let us know how they sound.

Compared to my dual G4/800, I bet they're somewhat quieter but I haven't seen them up close yet.

Compared to the G3/400, I bet they're still noisier.

i was hoping that with the huge heatsink and rear venting that this puppy was going to be less noisy than the previous g4's.

certainly apple was aware of the number of complaints about the jet noise of those units.

guess we'll find out soon enough.

i'm buying one anyway-if its loud, i'll just have to isolate it...

Call me a freak but I kind of like the noise of the fan. It's white noise and it's kind of soothing you know? Maybe I should get one of those new-age water bubblers that are shaped like a grotto.

All the vents on the new powermacs allow more air to come in so that the fan doesn't make that much noise
