Iphone 3g No sound or vibration

So I replaced my battery on my Iphone 3g last night and like a few others, broke the flex cable ribbon #3. I have read that this controls the ear speaker and the light sensor. However, others that have done this say the speakerphone still works but mine does not. It also will not vibrate. I shows it going from vibrate to on and then back to vibrate when i flip the side switch but it doesn't actually vibrate. My real question is, does ribbon 3 control the speaker phone and vibrate as well as the ear speaker or did i also mess up another ribbon? I appreciate any information. I thought i read something about ribbon 4 controlling the bottom speaker but not sure. Thanks.
