I have spirit JB with 3.1.3 and installed ultrasn0w yesterday. I popped a T-mobile sim in, with no service active (old SIM), and it said "no service." My mom's locked 3GS showed one bar of service with no carrier identity, then after two minutes came up with the sim error prompt so I can assume mine is unlocked. But in MuscleNerd's twitter, he said to turn off 3G if you use T-Mobile. I didn't, but I figured that's because turning off 3G is a way to conserve battery life as the 3G frequencies aren't compatible. Is that all that caution was for? Or might I have potentially relocked the phone? I doubt it, but just making sure, especially after a dubious friend raised concern on his end.

I really think I'm looking too much into it 😛 thanks guys

If you're in the US you need to turn off 3G cause tmobiles frequency is not compatible with the iphone and it will cause signal flancuation and searching and dropped signal all the time.
