1601 error
I was finally able to downgrade to 3.1.2 and re jailbreak via redsn0w. Now when I try to restore to a custom 4.0 it hands on preparing iphone for restore then throw the 1601 error. This is on XP with itunes 9.2 by the way. Has anyone else had this problem?

16xx errors pop up because you are in DFU mode. You must be in recovery mode
|

Ah, thank you. After many hours downgrading it never even crossed my mind. I think I need to go to bed lol.
