I have several sites that have data entry fields that are short text. so the text presented is actually less thn that held in memory.
on a computer I enter the field and use the arrow keys to scroll thru the text. any idea how this is done on an iPad?

Its done on the iPad with your finger. It sucks. I want arrow keys and tab key too.
The closest thing to a Tab key is the prev and next buttons ontop the keboard for filling out forms.

It certainly sucks as my fingers refuse to find the right gesture

I've gotten okay on it with the fingers but arrow keys would be a nice option.

Are you using the iPad Dock Keyboard? In all forms, Tab and Shift+Tab work perfectly. Almost all keys on the keyboard work and do the things they are supposed to... Including the arrow keys.
