Just got my iPhone 4 in the mail this morning. Had to go to the apple store and get a replacement because the ear piece speaker wasn't working. The only way I could make a call is if I put it on speaker phone. Has anyone else had this problem?

Push the headphone plug in and out of the jack a couple of times and see if that helps. Worth a try. ;)

Just toying around with the thing a few minutes ago I noticed that when I was cycling through ringtones and music files that nothing is coming out of the left speaker on the bottom.

Not that huge of a deal right now, but I'll take it over to the Apple Store this weekend.

Yeah it's the first thing I did lol. The ear piece speaker really wasn't working. There's no question about it. I just wonder if it will become a wide spread problem.

I Just got my IPhone 4 yesterday and I have the same problem. I spoke with an apple representative and they wanted to me to restore the phone, plug and unplug the headphones at least 5 times and nothing worked so now I have to send in my phone. What a bummer to get your phone, activate, then realize it doesnt work so you have to send it back!

My Verizon iPhone 4 32GB earpiece speaker quit working too a couple days ago  I tried the rebooting and the headphone jack trick, no luck. I took it to Verizon, and as they don't touch apple products - they overnighted me a brand new iPhone 4 :)

I never have spilled any liquids on it, so that is ruled out. I did drop it about 6 inches onto my end table the night prior after fumbling in the dark to re-dock it in my alarm clock. Maybe that did it, but if that is the case, I am truly disappointed in the craftsmanship/durability of its internal components. I did much worse to my AT&T iPhone 4 and never had any problems.
