so with the problem of signals issues you think apple should have some sort of coating on the next manufacture builds to fix this problem?

While it's too late for current iPhones, couldn't they just move th seems from the bottom to the top in future models? Instead of it being on the bottom, it seems on the top would put it in a place where you wouldn't touch it as often.

Due to FCC regulations the antenna must be on the bottom.

The antenna have to be as far away from the head as possible. This coating idea is best I've heard yet. Hopefully Apple's genii will be able to "paint" this coating onto current iPHones.

No, I thought that the frequency absorption rate (or whatever it's called) limit tended to push the design to the bottom but was not mandated to be

Apparently the head and hand are not considered equal in terms of absorption

I am seeing my father today and he is a telecoms engineer. I am going to see what his slant is on this before buying the new phone. I'm not saying he will be 100% correct, but his opinion will be a lot more informed than mine. I wonder if one could coat it themselves with something similar to the invisible shield material?

Thats the correct response. It doesn't HAVE to be on the bottom, but most phones have it that way because of the regulations.

Cool, let us know what he says.
