Hey there, installed a Vertex 2 yesterday in my 15" i7 MBP. Being a geek took an Xbench before and after, and being rather sad timed some different things before and after to compare.
Having never used an SSD wanted to see how much of a difference between the stock drive and an SSD, so if your interested here's the results.

So definite improvement across the board, this MBP is now certainly feels the fastest out of the computers I've owned and glad to find the whole thing about SSDs is not a fad.
Coping with the restricted space as well, put the old drive in a caddy with OSX and Windows partitions for data. I've assigned 85.9GB to OS X and have 32.2GB remaining, and 33.79 is assigned to Bootcamp with 14.56GB available. Media is on the OSX partition of the external, and my Docs and Programs files are mainly on the external Windows partition. Seems to be working quite well so far 🙂
Obviously there's the reported slow down after time, will have to see how this drive fairs.
