i was on fatwallet and saw that there is a rebate for the old AND NEW iBook models heres the link

EDIT: to make this deal a tad better login into A9.com (amazons search engine) with your amazon account and you get around 20 bucks off when you check out

Very nice --

Only thing is, it doesn't apply to the new 12", just the old 12".

Still, it puts the total price of the old 12" at $818! 😱

No, the rebates are now good on the new models too, but you must buy from Amazon and not one of their affiliates. They're currently sold out of the new 12" model, but the rebate is good thru 11/21, so they have plenty of time to get more back in stock.

12" iBook for $850!

Wow, I can't believe how cheap that is. I was thinking of getting the 12" Powerbook for $1450 (AR), but how can it really be worth $600 more than the 12" iBook? 😱

Dang, that makes the ibook even cheaper than the Apple Education price.... Hmm.... I keep saving for a 15" Powerbook, but an ibook for a third of the price.... I dunno!
