Can't read subtitles half of the time in dvd player

Hi guys,

I was watching a dvd 5 minutes ago, with dutch subtitles on, and half of the time, the text was unreadable, just like it was stretched and squashed. It happens with all the languages, and I tested another dvd as well, and still the same problem.

This is very annoying, I repaired permissions, restarted, etc, nothing helps.

Did anybody else experience this and solved it?
