Using Western Digital External HD for Mac / Windows
I just bought a Western Digital My passport for Mac 500 gb external HD and it works great on my MacBook Pro using Time Machine, but what if I want to use it on a PC to grab movies or music or something? Ive tried to connect it to a PC but it wont recognize the HD, any suggestions?

You can use Disk utility to resize your Time Machine partition, and then create a new FAT32 partition.
However, I'm not sure of -Wether it would be harmful to the Time Machine backup. -Wether it will actually work, since the other partition is in HFS+. Does the whole drive need to be in the same file system?
