Photo resizing (changing dpi) in iPhoto ?

I know you can do it in Preview (using the "Change size" window), but I think you can't do it in iPhoto. Maybe you can, yet I can't find it.
Computers don't care about dpi, only printers do. What are you trying to do with the image? How large is the original file (width and height in pixels)? How large are you planning on printing it?
You can't magically create pixels, you can create a larger file, but there will be no more detail in it than the original (but edges may be smoother if you resize in computer instead of printing at 72).
With more info, maybe people can help.
here is what I've for image
2336x3504 pixels - 150dpi image. I need to print this on 12x16 canvas so need to convert it to atleast 300dpi.
Also on a side note how is Aperture 3 compated to LR 3 ? I've downloaded and playing with LR3 and so far I like what I see in LR3. I donot edit my pictures too much. Most of my editing is done in Canon DPP.

You can't magically create information that's not there. I have seen some positive reviews of 'genuine fractals' for enlarging photos but I have never used it myself.
Try and print a small portion of the image at 195 dpi (2336/12) and see how it looks. That will give you an idea. If you really want/need 300 dpi, you need to reshoot with a different camera. 200 dpi will probably be ok.
