Winclone has been discontinued. What are the alternatives?
Hello. I was able to use Winclone to back up the SR MBP. However, I have problems in using it with the MBP 2010. I sent a mail to support awhile ago but did not get a reply. Just checked their website and found that the software has been discontinued. The forum has also been terminated. What other alternatives do we have to backup the Bootcamp partition? Please advice. Thanks.

Again?
I wish twocanoes would consider releasing it as Open Source, instead of just taking their marbles and going home. ![]() What specifically are the problems you are having? B

I have no clue. I have winclone on my MBP and it still works so I haven't looked for anything else.

I would suggest only using uncompressed DMG, there were some issues with compressed DMG and Snow Leopard IIRC. B

Thanks for the replies. I am very sorry. The last few lines were not included due to word limitation of each posting to macrumors. I am including the remaining log as following. See the attached screenshot with the default preferences for Winclone. Uncheck the "Compressed" check box and try again. This is what is meant by: Quote:

I get a similar problem but unchecking "Compressed" isn't helping. I just converted my FAT32 Bootcamp partition (Windows XP) to NTFS and now, this is coming up in my log when I try to use Winclone on the NTFS Bootcamp:
