this here, is $10. can't i just make a cutout for the phone and possibly make a smaller hole on the top making only room for the headphone cord?
then cut a recess above the on/off switch?

I do have a spare Moleskine, and a roller cutter, which should make the cutting easy. Will give it a go when I get my white iP4 whenever that will be.

Saw that on Gizmodo today. I have a DODOcase for my iPad (http://www.dodocase.com/) and always wished a Moleskine for my iPhone. In my opinion, the DODOcase quality seems superior. For example the bamboo edges on the DODOcase are much thinner while the ones on this iPhone case are too thick for me. That's why I'm waiting and hoping that DODOcase will make something similar.

Another cool case (although for MacBooks) is the BookBook from TwelveSouth (http://twelvesouth.com/products/bookbook/)
