Is messenger for mac not working for anyone else?

I cannot sign in, i get a message saying services not available. Anyone else have this? I have tried deleting the messenger plist file but it doesn't work. I am guessing the issue must be at microsoft's end?
 
Not sure if this helps, but I cannot sign on to messenger using adium. Just sits at loading buddy list. Have you tried adium or just the official MS client?
 
:/ All of a sudden that happened to me like abruptly out of fricking nowhere mac messenger won't sign in . Just stays at the sign in screen forever and after awhile it freezes there . I wasn't able to log into msn through Adium either :/
 
I'm having the same problem. Can't sign in using Adium or MSN. Doesn't work on my iPhone using the official MSN app.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Btw, anyone with bootcamp or a windows computer; does it work in windows?

I tried using eBuddy and got this error:

An error has occured:
You cannot use Messenger at this time because your contact list is not availalbe. Please try again later.


Seriously, what the **** is going on? Has this ever happened before? Once again, does it work in windows?
 
I was just about to post asking something similar as Adium is just stuck straight after turning on with the sand timer (Well the Adium equivalent anyway)
 
Same issue here, I've been trying to sign in and it keeps saying,
"Sign in to Microsoft Messenger failed because the service is not responding. The service is not available or you may not be connected to the Internet."
 
Same trouble, the last couple of days my MSN stopped working once in a while without a reason. Since this morning nothing is working.

EDIT: Mine looks to be working now.
 
In the US i believe that people use a few different messengers but in the UK where i am MSN is by far the most widely used. Makes it so annoying. Especially as theres no native webcam support in Messenger For Mac. Sure i use Amsn but its buggy and has an awful UI 🙁

I was wondering why my phone said that my account was signed in elsewhere this morning.

BeeJive for iPhone.

Also, Microsoft Messenger sucks. Why can't they just finish it already and make it half decent to use?

I use Adium most of the time though.

Had to help somebody with a new Mac using messenger or asm and couldn't get the camera to connect.

What a piece of @#%$##%$

Signed the guy on to Skype, made his wife in Peru open up a Skype account and they have been videoing and talking happily ever after.
