Looking for fonts used in manuals of the 1970/80s.

Hello.

I'm currently working on some "diagrams" for standardising the procedure of capturing tapes for our 1000+ tapes project and thought of using fonts from those printed manuals used in the 70/80s, as a gimmick and as some photos have that vibe.

If anyone knows of such fonts or similar ones, preferable free, I would be very grateful for those.

If someone knows links to PDF or scans for manuals from that time period, that would be very helpful too.

Thanks in advance for reading and knowing something.

Scan some of the text at high-res, crop a few words, then upload as a jpg to www.whatthefont.com. It's a great site and can often match, or come close, to the font you're looking for.

Add Helvetica to your list as it was the most common font used for almost anything in this time period!

Helvetica has been one of, if not the most widely used typeface (roman characters anyway) for decades.

There's nothing specifically '80s about it.
