Sounds good to me - after recent frustration dealing with a small reseller that offered low prices but didn't carry any stock, I would have no hesitation in going direct to Apple in future.
It seems inevitable that only the big players will survive, maybe then the prices will sneak back up again .

but it is cutting the throats of your own retailers...
Of course in the US, it seems the apple resellers can't beat the apple store prices in the first place, nor can offer deals like student discounts... and have to be given permission for promotions such as the recent 'cram & jam'.
A comprehensive article covering strategies of pricing in diff't countries would be interesting...
