what is the stand they use for the ipad at the apple store? You know? The clear circular shape base that all iPads sit on? Can you buy it somewhere? Or is it just for the retail store?

Oh yeah... that one? Every iPad reseller I've been to (Best Buy, Apple Store, MacEnthusiasts, Macmall, etc.) has them on display with the iPad on top. I think it's only given to certified iPad resellers/sellers.

Haven't found it anywhere for sale myself.

I really wanted this stand as well, until I found this,

this stand is pure awesome and it is sold at the Apple Store next to the cases for only $29. it is more functional than Apple's Stand on display or even the iPad dock that is sold for the same price, and with this you have the ability to place the iPad in any position you'd like.

That Apple Store stand isn't really usefull I think. It offers enough grip but when you put the ipad on it in portrait when the screen is in landscape it isn't tilted enough to correct it. I find that annoying.
