Making an app start and stop automatically

Hey,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but it looked like the most appropriate to me.

I need a way to make an application (the official BitTorrent client) start and stop automatically. Basically, I can only be running bittorrent at certain hours in the night. Is there a way to do this? I'm currently using the official BT client, but I can change if that will help.
