Turn SSH "OFF"?

Recently I have been messing around with uninstalling and installing some things to make my battery life better. I am a firm believer that Activator and SBSettings puts a hit on my battery so I am trying to see if there is something else I can use to shut off SSH.

I downloaded ToggleSSH but when I hit Disable, it still is on according to SBSettings. I need something that can shut it off. Thanks guys!

1) SBSettings comes stock with an SSH toggle, you shouldn't have to install ToggleSSH or anything else in order to turn on/off OpenSSH.

2) OpenSSH doesn't use any battery when not in use because it relies on a daemon that only activates the SSH process when it gets a knock on port 22.

Much more important is make sure you change your root and mobile SSH passwords.

Sorry to bump an oldie. But I can't seem to find a definate answer. Does turning off ssh on sbsettings have any effect of battery life? I know it was recommended way back when but I dislike the way sbsettings takes up my ability to fast travel to the top of a web page because of it's gesture area.

SSH has no effect on battery life on iOS 2.X onwards when it is in an idle state and there are no active connections. You can change the way SBSettings activates. You can make it work by pulling down the status bar, swiping it, or double taping it. To go to the top of a page quickly, just tap the status bar once. It does not interfere with SBSsettings when on the default settings.

The battery life is so good these days that I haven't noticed a difference. I often forget to turn SSH off after a reboot (it defaults to on just in case you can't boot into the GUI).

Also, you can change the way SBSettings activates by going into Settings > Activator and poking around. I have it set to activate when I swipe from the menubar down (like you'd be dragging down an Android Notification drawer) because the default (left to right) was unreliable. I haven't had an issue with it accidentally sliding down since.
