No, that's Chevy. Just replaced a Fuel Vapor Control Canister so my Check Engine light would stay off. The part was over $550

No, I think he was right. That's nothing compared to a transmission at 37,000 miles on a Jeep Grand Cherokee( same parent company).

I have to say all PETA complaining did was backfire on them. Instead dodge made a joke out of them.

Personally I go with People Eating Tasting Animals. It a great way to shut up some in your face people who are bothering you about PETA.

It was a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee( used). At 35,000 miles the transmission started to rough shift into 3rd gear. Dealer said, "normal". Then at around 36,000 miles it would refuse to shift into 3rd unless you let off the gas first. Dealer, " Normal" and then it finally failed at 37,000 miles.

My brother has a 2000 Cherokee( bought new when my dad bought it and then became my brothers 2 years later). The thing constantly overheated. Quite a few thermostats were replaced.

Mom had a 2001 Sebring Convertible. Suspension made noises( dealer said normal), the engine was a POS( slow, no power), and the passenger window whistled( normal). Then at 60,000 miles the oil pump was going. So we got rid of it.

Overall, our experience with Chrysler products have been subpar. On the other hand, our GM products have been stellar. BMW being in the middle.

How much?

That's like a whole system. Car won't operate without it. Mine was a little canister. Car runs fine with a bad one. State would make me fix it when I go for emissions test. I'm sure the transmission on a Chevy is more than this canister.

Cars in general, no matter what mfr., can become money pits.

Those canisters tend to go when you try to put too much gas in the gas tank.

My God, are these vehicles engineered to die right out of warranty? I had a 2006 Jeep Commander 65th Anniversary that had the transfer case die at 38000 miles this year. I got extremely pissed and Chrysler agreed to pay 50% of the costs, which I promptly traded in after the repair for a 2010 F150 XLT Supercab 4x4. Win.

Well, by "normal," they meant "we've been having ****** transmissions like that for a decade now." My father managed to get his '93 Caravan's transmission to last for 60k, well over the average life for that model.
