What the hell is it about preview.app that makes people delete it 'accidentally'?
![]() ![]() It's becoming an epidemic. |

Surely all the apps that came with OS X are on your start up disks that came with your Mac? I remember when I accidentally deleted Safari and found I was without a web browser, I popped my OS X boot disc into the drive and navigated to the apps on it and reinstalled Safari from it.

If you have another Mac OS X version, please state it. Or if you have your grey Restore DVDs, use the first one (System) and Pacifist to extract the applications you want. And btw, it is not really a good idea to post your email address that publicly, you might get more SPAM due to that. Use the button to remove it, as this thread is sufficient enough to get help. And again, please state the exact/specific Mac OS X version you use, to find out, go to the Menu Bar, click the and select About This Mac.Also have a look at the following links to learn more about Mac OS X: Mac OS X Basics, Malware, Software and other useful links Last edited by spinnerlys; Oct 18, 2010 at 04:45 AM. Anyway, the it ay be best to remove the email address from your post, before spambots get it and spam you. And if you still have the grey Restore DVD, that came with your Mac, use Pacifist to extract Preview, or if you have Mac OS X 10.6.4 Snow Leopard, see my post with the two images and the links in it. Or not. |

Do you have the latest Mac OS X version? Check via > About This Mac.And it may be best to remove your email address from your post, as it can lead to spambots catching it. Anyway, if you have the latest Mac OS X version - 10.6.6 - use the following .zip file link to download Preview. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10644330/Preview%2010.6.6.zip

When you post in this thread, please be so kind to post your current Mac OS X version, thus the replier can provide the correct version. Thank you for listening. Example: Mac OS X 10.6.6Btw, there are three versions of Preview available in this thread, one for 10.6.6, one for 10.6.4 and one for 10.5.8 I suppose.
