Is there some place I could see the original article?

When Brooks posted his article we were open ears to what he said.

Now someone has responded to him in a respectful manner that answers all of his misinformed lets see if he's listening right back, I hope he is.

he is the class bully

The guy really deserved that! Imagine the gall of Brooks responding to the enraged mac emails with an article! I have to say, that was the response of a bully picking on smaller kids, as we have no way to post articles at newspaper websites!

And like the class bully, he has no brain.

Seriously, I think everyone should send Rich Brooks a copy of the link to that article. We can do better than just 700 e-mails in his mailbox...!

Brooks already knows. He probably lead that letter before posting his follow-up rant.

He's already said that jumping on the bandwagon is the only factor a school system should ever consider when selecting computers. I'm surprised he didn't try to argue that the school replace its Macs with Playstation consoles - after all more of the kids probably have them at home as well.

I supose the ability of people such as myself to exploit network resources due to thier inability to secure the mix of xp and 98 machines is something worth protecting (in schools) acording to his logic.

I have a feeling he did. This was all done for publicity. I think it's called the Dvorak-style of Journalism.

Lol you wanna talk about bad journalism, Dvorak takes the cake. This columnist pales in comparison to the crap Dvorak puts out in his column.

Honestly, the more you read, the stupider you get. Its one of the reasons I have stopped reading PC Magazine, and instead rely on sites like ArsTech for current technical news & info.

I don't know why, but I always thought that DVORAK was like an alternate keyboard format to QWERTY but I could be wrong - maybe it's that guy I knew about five years ago named Evan whose last name was DVORAK.

Davorack (sp?) was the one who reported days before WWDC that Apple will be switching over to Intel processors. We all see how well that panned out....

I'm sorry. Are you SERIOUS? I'm like dying laughing over here but I am trying hard not to because I work in the guidance office fourth period. Wow. That is just unbelieveable. What a stupid notion.

John C. Dvorak. Flaming idiot columnist for Ziff-Davis. His articles are high on flamebait and low on content.
