Hi,

Is there way a way to see and delete hidden files in OSX without going into the terminal?

Thank you for your help.

I don't believe you can. There may be a piece of freeware that does this though (I take it you've already had a look for one).

Open up terminal and enter this:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles ON

Log out, and log back in and you should be able to see everything, to turn it off:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles OFF 😉 again, log out, log in.

Duff-Man says....look for the freeware "TinkerTool" - it has an option to show/hide hidden files. Oh, and please try to title your threads with something more descriptive than "help".....oh yeah!

There's also a neat program you can find on versiontracker.com called ShowAll. There was another one I used to use - but I forget what it was called. Drat.
