I read they do this pretty much every year before Christmas, and at other points of the year when sales are increasing. Does anyone have any information on the date they usually do it, and the terms that usually apply? I have seen that 0% and 12 months is usually the deal?

3 years ago I bought an rMBP on the 0% deal at the time. It was ordered on the 2nd December, pretty sure that was a day or after the 0% financing was made available. It was a 10 month term, but I'm pretty sure more recently it has been possible to chose the term.

Ah okay, I'll just wait until December, or whenever the financing deal is made available then, makes sense if I'm paying £2.4k to avoid an extra £400 over the course of a year or two.
