if the new 1.8ghz g5 is dual....then why does it max out at 4gb of ram?? whats the deal?
The new 1.8 G5s only have 4 RAM slots, the original ones had 8.
Speculation is that they might support 2GB sticks (therefore 8GB total). I don't know if this is confirmed either way.
Re: 1.8, 2.0. & 2.5GHz PowerMac Memory
don't think it's cause of 2gb chips. its just a selling point. the new 1.8 is also the new low end. its just anothe factor to seperate it from the middle and high end machines.
hey, thanks guys....
all g5s work with 2gb chips but last time i checked they were 999.99 USD each
