Hey guys I just returned my MacBook and decided that I wanted a MBP I have an offer for one at $1480 its 3 months old but still eligible for AppleCare. Its the basic run of the mill MBP 512mb of ram. Is this a good deal at this price? I know the Merom powered MBP's are around the corner but I'm dying without a OS X powered machine. Do you think I could get $1400 for this machine once merom drops? So basically I rent the MBP for 3 months for $80. Anyone have a take? I know these revisions have problems but could it be any worse then the MacBook I just returned?

Are you talking about eBay? I would worry about someone "dumping" their defective MBP (although it works fine according to Apple specs). But $1480 would be a great price. I would think $1400 would be a reasonable price to get for it (although the eBay fees would be close to $100)

Naw its a local add from Craigslist so I see before I buy. No ebay on something this big for me. I figure I'll resell it on craigslist in 2 months. So $1480 seems like a good deal?

Seems a good deal to me, but not sure if your get $1400 when the Merom comes out.

It depends on the price of the chips. If the MBP goes up or stay the same price then you should be fine.

in 2 monthes you want 1480... might get less. You will get that now probably. in 2 monthes maybe 1400 or less. Just list it now and see what offers you get. Probably around 1400. It seems Apple losing there value alot quicker now

In NYC craiglist I seen 2.0 MBP with 1GB single chip 100HD with applecare sell for $1900-2000 quickly. I tried to buy one , but it was gone. Somebody sold a Black Macbook with applecare for 1350 ... have one listed now at 1400 with applecare now.
